2013年10月公開映画『飛べ！ダコタ』で使われた飛行機だそうです。
太平洋戦争終戦５ヵ月後、イギリス領事がマッカーサー元師を表敬訪問する為、英国空軍輸送機「ダコタ」が上海から東京に向かったが、悪天候により佐渡島上空まで流され不時着した。新潟県・佐渡島高千村の島民達が、損傷した機体を修理し滑走路建設などの協力して、ダコタは無事に離陸した。
戦後間もない実話が映画化されたのですが、つい最近まで敵国だった人達を助けた佐渡島の村民たち。日本人は、困っている人を見ると助けてあげないといけないと思う性分がありますね。
この飛行機は海外の国々を渡り、「シスター・アン」 と名付けられ、Sister Ann と機体に書かれています。浜松市のリサイクル会社が買い取ったそうです。

The movie “Fly!” released in October 2013 This is the plane used in "Dakota".
Five months after the end of the Pacific War, a British Air Force transport plane, the Dakota, headed from Shanghai to Tokyo in order for the British consul to pay a courtesy visit to former Rev. MacArthur, but due to bad weather it was swept over Sado Island and made an emergency landing. The residents of Takachimura, Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture, repaired the damaged aircraft and helped build the runway, allowing the Dakota to take off safely.
This true story was made into a movie shortly after the war, and the story is about the villagers of Sado Island who helped people who until recently were enemies. Japanese people have a tendency to feel obligated to help when they see someone in trouble.
This plane flew over many countries and was named ``Sister Ann'', with Sister Ann written on the fuselage. Apparently it was purchased by a recycling company in Hamamatsu City.
